We're introducing a dedicated 'Account Owner' user role. For more on scaling AR operations, see New User Roles on OCTA: AR Specialist & Read-Only Access and Top AI Tools for Automating Accounts Receivable in 2026.

Why Account Ownership Matters in AR

In enterprise AR, the relationship between a customer and their account manager is often the fastest path to payment resolution. When an invoice goes overdue, a well-timed call from the account owner — who knows the customer's business, their approval process, and their preferred communication style — almost always outperforms a generic automated reminder. Account ownership in AR makes that personal touch systematic rather than occasional.

OCTA's Account Owner feature makes this scalable. By linking each customer to their account owner, the platform can route escalations, generate account-specific reports, and filter the AR pipeline by owner — so each team member has a clear view of their own book of accounts and their payment status. Leadership gets a portfolio view across all owners, making it easy to spot which account relationships need management attention and which are running smoothly.

For teams where account management and finance work in separate silos, this feature is particularly valuable. The account owner doesn't need to check in with finance to know which of their accounts is overdue — they see it directly in their own filtered view, and can act before a small delay becomes a collections issue.
